The papers are a valuable resource for the study and understanding of public education and the Puerto Rican/Latino community in New York City from the 1980s-1990s. The documents in this collection fill a significant information gap on important organizations such as ASPIRA of New York, Inc., the Puerto Rican/Latino Educational Roundtable and the Latino Commission on AIDS.
